Our Role

Legal Protection & Advocacy

PGHWA advocates for national legislation that brings gig, platform and home-based workers under decent-work frameworks aligned with international labour standards.

Our role is to raise the collective voice of workers. We focus on three things:

  1. Recognition of platform, gig and home-based work in national and global conversations on labour rights.
  2. Inclusion of these workers in social security, health and welfare protections.
  3. Amplifying workers' concerns — harassment, unfair treatment, exploitation — so they cannot be ignored.

When a worker submits a report to us, we do not act as their lawyer or dispute handler. We record their concerns, protect their identity, and use their collective experiences to push for change with policy makers, media, researchers and civil society partners in Pakistan and internationally.

Please note: PGHWA is a rights-advocacy association, not a legal aid service. For individual legal matters, workers should consult a qualified lawyer or a competent authority.
